The Art Museum of Western Virginia unveiled three paintings it has acquired, including one by Norman Rockwell, the American artist who was famous for the series of covers he painted for the Saturday Evening Post.

The paintings went on display at the museum's location at Center in the Square in downtown Roanoke.
The other two paintings are "Midsummer" by George Inness and "Cooper's Bluff - Midnight Strollers" by Eduard Steichen.

All were acquired with funds from the Horace G. Fralin Charitable Trust. A purchase price was not disclosed.
